The Hamza family arrived by plane in Boston on a blustery cold night on January 17, 2017. They had spent the previous 4 years in Turkey after leaving the Kurdish region of Syria (they are Kurds). They arrived in Boston after finally getting official refugee status, just before the original Muslim Ban.
