The Hamza family arrived by plane in Boston on a blustery cold night on January 17, 2017. They had spent the previous 4 years in Turkey after leaving the Kurdish region of Syria (they are Kurds). They arrived in Boston after finally getting official refugee status, just before the original Muslim Ban. They were sponsored by Jewish Family Services of Metrowest (JFS, located in Framingham) in conjunction with HIAS, which works with the US Department of State.
The entire Hamza family, including their children, will speak right after our Shabbat service on Dec. 6th. Special Oneg following the service.
