MLK Interfaith Shabbat service

Please join us for a very special MLK weekend event this Friday, Jan. 13th!  Our temple is hosting an interfaith Shabbat dinner and service, featuring Dima Basha of Aleppo, Syria. She will explain what is happening in Aleppo, tell us about her journey, making the transition to life in America, and how we can help.

 

6:30pm – Interfaith Pot Luck Dairy/Veggie Dinner RSVP by Wednesday, Jan. 11th

7:30pm – Shabbat Learner’s Service

8:15pm – Oneg Shabbat, sponsored by the Singer family (please bring a dessert to add if you can), including slide show presentation by Dima.


Dima Basha was born in Damascus and raised in Aleppo, Syria. She has a BA in English Literature and established a Language and Computer Science Institute in Syria, 1999 – 2006. She also worked in the Norwegian Consulate as a vice consul. From there, she became a senior underwriter/head of department of one of the biggest insurance companies in the Middle East.
