Shabbat Service – Sukkot

Please join us to welcome in the high holy day of Sukkot as we consecrate our newest religious school students. Sukkot is the festival when we give thanks for our many blessings. This holy day recalls the time when our ancestors lived in booths and made a pilgrimage to Jerusalem to offer up the first fruits of their crops in thanksgiving. Following the service, we will recite the blessings in our Sukkah.

Adult Education: Introduction to the Talmud

Ben Einsidler is a rabbinical student at Hebrew College and a teacher of Talmud at JCDS, Boston's Jewish Community Day School. He lives in Burlington with his wife and two children. His class will be an introduction to the Talmud, Judaism's primary text of religious law and theology. The class will consist of a basic introduction to the history of the text, along with studying various Talmudic texts in traditional hevrutot (partner study) and whole-class discussion.
