Education – Letter From Director

Letter From our Director of Education

Dear Parents:

Our program is designed for families with children in grades K-7. Our curriculum focuses on mastery of synagogue skills, Hebrew, Torah study, Jewish holidays and history, as well as mitzvot and Jewish ethics. We are continually reviewing and updating our curriculum to ensure that all of our materials are at the forefront of Jewish education today, thereby affording our students the best learning opportunities.

In addition to the formal program, there are opportunities for informal education and family learning as well. These include family workshops, Shabbat services, social activities, and field trips.

Our religious school consists of a one-day program for grades K, 1, and 2 on Sunday mornings (9:00-11:00 a.m.) and a two-day program for grades 3-7 on Sunday mornings (9:00-11:00 a.m.) and Tuesday afternoons (4:00-6:00 p.m.). School meets at the Marshall Simonds Middle School on Winn St., Burlington on Sunday mornings and at the Temple on Tuesday afternoons.

The registration fee is $60 for each of your first two children and $40 for each additional child. It costs the temple more money, time, and effort to order books and materials and hire teachers later in the year. Therefore, your help in doing this in a timely fashion would be most appreciated!

The school committee has a policy stating that no child will be allowed to enter school in September without a completed registration package. This is for the safety of your child, since registration forms contain emergency numbers and health information. Please remember that you must be a temple member for your child to be enrolled in the religious school.

Please feel free to contact our office if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Director of Education
