      About the Rabbi

Rabbi AbramsonRabbi Susan Abramson
Susan Abramson has been the rabbi of Temple Shalom Emeth since 1984. She is the longest serving female rabbi in Massachusetts.

Rabbi Abramson received her B.A. at Brandeis University in 1976 and was ordained at Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion in 1981. In 2006 she received a Doctor of Divinity degree from Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion. She served as Assistant Rabbi of Main Line Reform Temple in Wynnewood, PA from 1981-1984.

Rabbi Abramson is the co-founder of Stars of David, a social/support group for Jewish and partly-Jewish families with adopted children. She has served on the Executive Board of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, Action for Post Soviet Jewry and as the Northeast chairperson for the Women's Rabbinic Network.

She is the author of three Jewish children's books:
Rabbi Rocketpower and the Mystery of the Missing Menorahs - A Hanukkah Humdinger
Rabbi Rocketpower in Who Hogged the Hallah? A Shabbat Shabang
Rabbi Rocketpower and the Half Baked Matzah Mystery - A Particularly Peculiar Passover.
