PreHebrew
Pre-Hebrew provides a fantastic way to strengthen your 4 year old's
Jewish identity, introduce your child to our traditions,
observances, music, and explore Judaism in an age appropriate
setting. The curriculum includes Jewish holidays, songs, bible
stories, Sh'ma, and more. A weekly craft corresponds to holidays or
themes for each class. As a parent, consider the benefits for your
child. Pre-K offers a transition for children looking ahead to
religious school. Your child will develop their awareness of Judaism
in a very fun way, building on their Jewish identity.
Jill Murgo, experienced pre-school teacher, OFC certified, mother of
three little kids, brings her enthusiasm and talents to our Pre-Hebrew class.
The class is open to children who are four years old by September 1,
2006
It meets on
Sundays from 9:15 to 10:30 AM in the Little House (next to the temple).
For more information or to register, please contact Judy Corwin

Jr Youth Group
Advisor: Steve DiOrio
Jr. Youth Group provides kids in the 6th to 8th grade the opportunity to socialize and explore their Jewish identity with other kids in our temple community and around the New England region through social events, shul-in’s and programming. Junior youth group helps kids entering the most social time of their young lives to make connections to other Jewish kids- connections which can help keep them active in the temple community through their teen years.
There is normally one event per month on a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon. The cost of events will vary, but except for a few “big” events, most events are kept at a moderate cost to allow everyone to participate. Following is a list of planned events for this year.

Sr Youth Group (SEFTY)
Advisor: Elana Klinger
SEFTY is a wonderful opportunity for teenagers to become more involved in their Jewish community, and to become comfortable with other Jewish teenagers in the Boston area. Having grown up participating in many Jewish youth group events in the Boston area, our advisor can persoinally attest to the positive experience a youth group provides.
So what is SEFTY?
SEFTY (Shalom Emeth Federation of Temple Youth) is Shalom Emeth’s chapter of NFTY (North American Federation of Temple Youth), the nation-wide Jewish youth group. SEFTY participants will have three to four opportunities throughout the school year to participate in a regional event with other NFTY youth groups. Events might include a night at another Temple, a ski trip, or a dance with Jewish teenagers from all over New England, or a weekend long event in another state. In addition to these regional events, there will be several opportunities for SEFTY participants to perform community service, take part in an event with another nearby youth group, or spend an afternoon or evening with SEFTY participants alone.
Many events will include services, and/or discussions based around a central Jewish theme. SEFTY will often meet at TSE to discuss upcoming events, plan social action events, and of course—socialize while eating pizza!
The event calendar is planned throughout the year by SEFTY members. To register or be on our email list, please contact Elana.
